Gold
Coast based Men of Business (MOB) will be hitting the streets in February 2015
in a bus to transport youth at risk.
Since 2010, the MOB have worked alongside
local schools to guide and support teenage males (aged between 14-17) who have
been identified as ‘at risk’ in society. The programs are supported by a
network of Gold Coast men (MOBsters) from an array of industries, including
trade, finance, health and sport, who provide mentoring, personal training,
work experience and job opportunities to youth.
On November 14th, the MOB hosted
their annual luncheon at Jupiters Hotel and Casino. Some of the attendees
included Mat Rogers and his son Jack, MP Robert Molhoek and Gold Coast Suns
Assistant Coach Ashley Prescott. The function raised more that $85,000 to
support youth by transporting them to and from the program, based in Bundall. This is a positive step for MOB and advantageous to reaching out to even more disadvantaged youth who are unable to travel to the program.
